The Barefoot Guide to Working with Organizations and Social Change

The Barefoot Guide to Working with Organizations and Social Change is a seven-chapter, 174-page nicely illustrated and well organized manual supporting organizational development in community groups. The guide is aimed at leaders and facilitators of civil society organizations, offering practical help to organizations wanting to function and to develop in more healthy, human and effective ways as they strive to make their contributions to a more humane society. The guide was developed by a collective group of collaborating practitioners and activists from South Africa. It is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License. The accompanying website provides handouts and additional readings and is a work in progress.
