Information:
Jo,
an honor student attending Our State University on a
partial scholarship and Pat, an athlete also attending
Our State University, live in North Hall Residential
Facility and room next door to each other. After several
weeks of not speaking to each other because of past
arguments over early morning disturbances, Jo and Pat
find themselves at the Fitness Center together. Jo is
working out on a treadmill when Pat enters and immediately
starts conversing with a group just a few yards from
Jo. After the day that Jo has had, s/he tries to ignore
Pat. Silently, s/he wishes that Pat would leave, feeling
that s/he invades enough of her/his space as it is.
Pat makes a comment to someone in the group, something
like "my backhand is getting better everyday"
and Jo rips right into her/him.
As
the argument gets really heated, someone from the group
separates the two and the manager on duty suggests that
they attend mediation or chance being banned from using
the facilities for one month if another incident occurs.
