Another Roomate Problem

I just moved into my dorm room at American University, and met my roomate, Phil, for the first time. This is our 3rd day living together, and we yet have to really talk to each other. In fact, his girlfriend is always over and they have just kept to themselves. I would like to get to know Phil a little bit better, but how can I get him to myself??

Quality roommate time

- I once had a problem like this with my roommate. I was nervous about approaching the topic, but finally just asked if my roommate and his girlfriend would like to go out to dinner with me. This helped break the ice, and I was more confortable asking my roommate to hang out with me separately.
