Campus Conflict Case Review Room
This
experimental on-line "Case Review" forum has been created to support
best practices in handling campus conflict. The intended audience
is people who intervene in campus conflict as part of their work
or volunteer service. In particular, we are thinking about campus
mediators and mediation program coordinators and ombuds. We hope
to encourage learning from campus conflict, by increasing our
opportunities to be reflective about current and past cases, and
to receive feedback and support from colleagues.
Campuses are complex environments. Each emergent conflict brings
a unique set of characteristics and concerns that intervernors
must consider as they develop their approach. The case review
room is intended to provide a space for review and feedback on
cases that campus conflict resolution programs are dealing with
currently, or have dealt with in the past.
We explore both hypothetical and real cases that have been stripped
of identifying information. These cases are submitted anonymously
via an online form. Ideas and information provided by the various
respondents does not constitute legal advice nor does it
represent the views of the Campus Conflict Resolution Resources
site management.
