Two students are fighting over uses of the others person computer. this roomate is downloading porno files onto the roomate's computer without his knowledge.

So pretty much, the one roommate is using the other's computer without permission. I think that if I were trying to 'sell' mediation at that point I would make that the issue - property usage, as compared to pornography. The disputants might be more willing to talk about sharing each other's belongings than the right and wrongs of pornography. Just my two cents.
