Evaluating Your Conflict Resolution Education Program

Valuable information for conflict resolution program educators is available in this manual prepared for the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management. The full title of the manual is School Conflict Management: Evaluating Your Conflict Resolution Education Program - A Guide for Educators and Evaluators. While the manual is intended for K-12 educators, it does contain useful information for those at universities and colleges, especially if they are partnering with a local school program.

The manual is organized into the following chapters:

  • Chapter One - Your Program, Your Goals
  • Chapter Two - Why Evaluate Your Program?
  • Chapter Three - The Steps of Evaluation
  • Chapter Four - Assessing Your Needs and Setting Goals
  • Chapter Five - Deciding What to Look For and Making Sure You Get It
  • Chapter Six - Making Sense of What You See And Letting Others Know What Your Found

The manual also contains activities, surveys, measuring forms and interview scripts.

The manual can be downloaded in PDF format at http://www.state.oh.us/cdr/schools/evaluatingcrep.htm (see download link in upper left corner of page). Please note, the manual is a very large file (6.7 MB) and takes considerable time to download. Thus, it may not be suitable for computers with slow internet connections.
