Real
People, Real Peace is a free series of short public
service radio announcements produced by Mennonite
Media and the Third
Way Cafe, sponsored by the Mennonite Mission
Network.
The
Real People, Real Peace spots look at the ways that
violence emerges. The spots also provide practical
things people can do to break the cycle of violence.
All of the spots are true stories of Mennonites
who found peaceful ways to resolve conflicts. Real
People, Real Peace public service announcements
have been used by more than 365 stations in 47 states
since their release in 1999. Individuals involved
with conflict management in higher education may
find the everyday peacemaking stories useful in
classrooms, training sessions, mediations, etc...
Seventeen
announcements are available to the public. Real
People, Real Peace spots can be accessed online
by visiting http://www.thirdway.com/rad/radpax.shtml.
The audio clips can be downloaded in MP3 or QuickTime
4 format. The scripts can also be read online. Broadcast
quality versions are available, many with a choice
of 3 different taglines. Other formats (including
CD and higher quality encodings) available upon
request.
